Say hello to my little friend… (yeah I don’t do a great Al Pacino impression, and let’s be real, this isn’t Scarface).
This is Orion the Owl, he is the mascot/imaginary friend that keeps me company here at MarnieSue Development. Don’t worry, I talk to him, but so far he hasn’t talked back. 🙂
Orion symbolizes many things for MarnieSue Development, some of these things are based in Greek Mythology which is where he gets his name (Orion the hunter and constellation we see in the night sky) and where the concept of using an owl as my logo here came from. Athena, the goddess of wisdom, is often accompanied by an owl and this owl (to quote Wikipedia) ‘has been used as a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, perspicacity and erudition’. The symbolism of hunting for knowledge and possessing wisdom to share with others spoke to me and the idea of Orion was born (hatched? mmm not sure).
